The Senior Years

Striving for Balance in the Present and the Future

The Senior Years Program at Wycliffe shifts focus to preparation of young people for the challenges they will face on graduation, seeking to promote in them a readiness to be agents of positive change and hope in a fragmented world. To this end, the Senior Years have an extensive student leadership program with an emphasis on service. The Senior Years offers Year 10 students a unique cultural and faith exchange in Tonga and Year 11 a variety of service and cultural exchange opportunities (including Service in Western NSW rural areas or a cultural exchange to Hong Kong and China).

Following a broad elective program for Years 9 and 10 and supported by careers education, an even more diverse subject offering is available in Years 11 and 12.

In Years 11 and 12 students can choose from the more academically oriented subjects to the more practical. The range includes Vocational Education, as well as courses offered in a variety of delivery modes including those delivered by TAFE, private providers and distance education.

The Senior Years are grouped in two distinct stages:

  • Year 9 program
  • Senior College (Years 10-12)

Please note that 2009 is a transitionary year for the organization of the Senior Years. The Senior College covers only Years 11 and 12 in 2009 before extending to Years 10-12 in 2010. Years 9 and 10 are grouped together for pastoral and organizational matters in 2009 only. The Year 9 program is being piloted in 2009 for further development over 2010 and 2011.
