Our four pillars

Our philosophy of education is guided by four key pillars, which permeate all aspects of life and learning at Wycliffe.

Educational excellence in a caring and supporting Christian community

Partnering with families in Christian education for 49 years, we are passionate about developing the 'whole child' - academically, spiritually and emotionally - and releasing their individual God-given abilities.

Our Story

Wycliffe Christian School has been engaged in partnering with families in the Christian education since 1976. In 2021, we opened Wycliffe Hope School. We’re a learning community in the beautiful lower Blue Mountains with a Christ-centred heartbeat. From Preschool to Year 12, we love helping our students find their place in God’s world and invest their God-given gifts into deep and rich learning. As an independent and non-denominational Christian community, we provide quality and engaging education delivered through a distinctly biblical worldview. Wycliffe Christian School is non-selective, and Wycliffe Hope School accepts students with autism or a moderate intellectual disability.

At Wycliffe, we seek to empower parents in their God-given responsibility for the upbringing and education of their children. We recognise the vital role of parents to the educational process, and emphasise the strength of partnership with home.

Together, as a learning community, we want to see our students make the most of their God-given talents and abilities and to prepare them to be agents of hope and change in a fragmented world.

From early childhood, through adolescence, and into young adulthood, faith in Christ is nurtured. We encourage discernment in the exploration of ideas and the evaluation of human endeavour. We don’t shy away from confronting the tough questions and students learn to assess their relationships, their values, their choices and their behaviour against a biblical worldview. They also discover that their faith gives direction, purpose and significance to both life and learning.

Wycliffe encourages students to take seriously the claims of Christ, celebrating His lordship over all life. The school’s desire is to empower young people in becoming all that God has created them to be, finding their place and purpose in His world.
