Cocurricular Activities

Explore, create, and thrive

Inspiring growth beyond the classroom

Our cocurricular programs encourage students to explore their passions, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships. From music and drama to sports and leadership opportunities, we offer a wide range of activities that nurture creativity, teamwork, and confidence.

Duke of Edinburgh

hero image

Wycliffe provides the opportunity for students to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh International Award. The Award challenges young people to dream big, celebrate their achievements and make a difference in their world. They do this by developing universal and transferable skills, increasing their fitness levels, cultivating a sense of adventure and volunteering in their community. We want to see our young people inspired to make their own choices and build their own unique programs, helping them to find their place and purpose in the world. Students interested in joining the Duke of Edinburgh program are encouraged to speak to their Growth Group teacher.

Music

We have several musical groups and many tutors to help students develop their musical skills. Amongst our bands and ensembles are vocal groups, concert and jazz bands, and a worship group. Each of these groups has opportunities to perform across the year and has weekly lunch practices.

We also have tutors available for a variety of instruments, including piano, brass, drums, woodwinds, and vocals. Students can take their lessons onsite during school hours with one of our trusted external tutors.

Lunch Activities

A variety of lunch programs, clubs and activities are available to students so they can learn new skills, socialise with peers, and have fun together.

Some of the options include lunchtime board games, tech team, chess club and use of the quiet room. Wycliffe has several music ensembles who meet during the week to practice; we host weekly lunch soccer games for our Junior School students, as well as an art club and drama club for our creative kids. Bible study groups are also available for our Senior students, and fun activities and interesting displays are available in the Library.

VET

Wycliffe partners with a number of other local independent schools to form the KEY Alliance, through which we provide VET courses like Hospitality and Construction for students undertaking their HSC. Through the KEY Alliance, Wycliffe students have the opportunity to study courses which focus on industry skills while also working towards qualifications such as Certificate II or Certificate III. Wycliffe has excellent facilities and we believe in equipping our students for their chosen pathway.

Sport

There are many sporting opportunities available to students at Wycliffe. Aside from class sport and lunchtime activities, Wycliffe also participates and hosts in local gala days and encourages students in representative sport. We join our local Christian schools in CSSA and CIS competitions, and we are thrilled to have students consistently representing Wycliffe at state and national levels. Socially, staff and older students have a yearly volleyball tournament near the end of the year.

Trips

Beyond the excursions and camps available to students, we also have other trips that students can voluntarily join. These include a snow trip in the winter in partnership with Nepean Christian School, and service trips to other countries. We believe that these additional chances to travel and learn can help students understand the wider world and serve their global community.
