Requirements for Children Attending School

Children Attending School

As you would be aware the school is open for children who are unable to learn from home. The Government and Department of Health are asking for this attendance to be kept as low as possible. As the current delta variant of coronavirus has a higher level of transmissibility, they have specified some very specific guidelines to be adhered to. These are as follows:

  • Students must not attend if they are unwell.
  • Students who are absent due to flu-like illness or who develop flu-like symptoms while at school are not to return to school until they have a negative COVID-19 test and are symptom-free.
  • The negative COVID-19 test result must be received via email to reception@wycliffe.nsw.edu.au before the student returns to school.
  • Physical distancing of 1.5m is to be maintained by students in Year 7 to Year 12 both indoors and in the playground.
  • Masks are mandatory for students in Year 7 to Year 12 in all indoor settings and for all public transport.
  • High levels of personal hygiene including regular use of hand sanitiser or washing of hands is to be maintained.

When Students Arrive at School
Students will be met in the bus bay when they are dropped off by parents or by the buses. The arrangements for pickup at the end of the day will be communicated through Monday, and please note that pickup will need to be after 3.05pm and parents will need to stay in their cars. As part of the arrangements you will be required to have your child/ren’s names on paper in clear large writing in the left side of the front windscreen.
